While at the Makagon Lab…

Chris completed a research thesis entitled “Assessing Pekin duck walking ability using a treadmill performance test”, and published his main findings in the Journal of Poultry Science. His academic and research merit was recognized with 3 awards from the Department of Animal Science, Purdue University: 2015 Featherstone Early Graduate Career Award, 2015 Featherstone Outstanding M.S. Student Award and 2015 Featherstone Off-Compus Training Award. His M..S thesis research earned industry recognition for our lab, which received a Research Appreciation Award from Maple Leaf Farms, Inc, for “significant contributions to Maple Leaf Farm and Duck Research”.

 

Where is he now?

After obtaining his M.S. degree Chris completed his PhD at Purdue University under the supervision of Dr. Don Lay. He is currently an Assistant Professor in the Dept. Animal Sciences, North Dakota State University.
