Research Interests:
Ruth is interested in the social interaction within small poultry flocks. Their PhD research will address questions about individual variation (within flocks, between strains, over time) in social preferences, individual recognition. Beyond research, Ruth aims to integrate their applied welfare research background with their passion for science communication, with the long term goal of strengthening connections between welfare researchers and the backyard poultry community.

Fun fact:  Ruth was the producer of the Big Biology podcast for three years!
